Emily Gaukler, MD
Emily Gaukler is one of the newest staff members to join Addison Family Medicine Practice. She just recently completed her combined residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in Delaware at Christiana Care Health Services associated with Thomas Jefferson University where she served as Chief Resident. Prior to that she completed her medical school training at University of Rochester and obtained an undergraduate degree in Geology and International Relations at Brown University. The idea of primary care is what initially drew her to medicine and she is very happy to now be devoting herself full time to this endeavor. When not working, she is looking forward to getting to spend more time outdoors hiking again and sampling the good restaurants that Vermont has to offer. She also has a passion for travel. She has studied abroad in Egypt, spent months doing public health research in India, and more recently helped out in rural clinics in Nepal after their catastrophic earthquake.
Ken Harris, MD
After having studied at the University of Pennsylvania and Rutgers Medical School, Dr. Harris completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Tufts St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston. He then pursued a subspecialty fellowship in Gastroenterology at a combined program at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he was a Harvard Teaching Fellow. Doctor Harris has been a partner at a vibrant multi specialty group in the Boston area, practicing Primary Care Internal Medicine as well as Gastroenterology. While in practice, he was Chief of GI endoscopy and served as the youngest president of the medical staff at his local hospital. He is a lifetime member of the Wilderness Medicine society, frequently attending their national conferences.
Dr. Harris and his family have vacationed at their home on the lake in Ferrisburgh for over 20 years enjoying hiking, kayaking and all that the region has to offer. He recently decided to move to Vermont permanently. He states "to be able to live and work in Vermont is a dream come true". He is happy and proud to join Addison Family Practice as a Primary Care physician in Internal Medicine and a Gastroenterology consultant.
Natasha Withers, DO
Natasha graduated from Middlebury College. She attended medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. She then went on to do her residency in Family Medicine at Beth Israel in New York City, where she served as Chief Resident. After completing residency, she joined the New York office of One Medical Group, an innovative primary care practice, most recently as the National Women’s Health Lead. She is also currently serving as the Medical Director of Primary care services here at Porter.
Natasha is an osteopathic physician by training, which means she incorporates the mind, body, and spirit into every patient encounter. She loves all aspect of primary care and treating the patient as a whole, however she has a particular passion for women’s health. Given her osteopathic background, she is well versed in muscular issues and can offer osteopathic manipulation to her patients when appropriate.
Jeffrey Abell, PA-C
Jeffrey Abell completed his Masters of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Nova Southeastern University in Jacksonville Florida, where he graduated with honors and was inducted into the Pi Alpha National Honor Society for physician assistants. Prior to attending PA school he studied human biology in Portland Maine, and also worked in ophthalmology for seven years, where he performed ophthalmic diagnostic imaging and assisted in eye surgery. Jeff enjoys camping, skiing, cooking, and is excited to be back in Vermont.
