Visiting Patients

Updated: April 20, 2023

Porter Medical Center believes in patient-and family-centered care and strives to promote patient and family participation in all aspects of care. In most cases, adult patients are permitted unrestricted visitation, with consideration given to the clinical environment and ability to provide safe, high-quality care.

Thank you for helping us maintain a healing environment.

  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Masking is optional for healthy visitors. Masks are available at kiosks near entrances or by asking a staff member.
  • Avoid overcrowding and creating excessive noise.
  • Disruptive or violent behavior is not tolerated. Threatening a patient, resident or staff member will result in immediate removal by security and/or local law enforcement.

Please note that there may be times or locations in which we limit visits due to safety concerns, such as during a disease outbreak. Care areas with high-risk patients or capacity issues may need to impose additional restrictions for patient and employee safety.

Check for posted signs and call ahead to the area you are visiting if you have specific questions.
