UVM Health Network – Porter Medical Center

The University of Vermont Health Network improves the lives of our patients by delivering outstanding care cost-effectively, as close to patients’ homes as possible.

About the UVM Health Network

Porter Medical Center is proud to be the newest member of the University of Vermont Health Network; and we are confident that this new chapter in our history will have a positive impact on access, efficiency, and quality of services available for the people of our community. By collaborating as a Network instead of competing, we can share knowledge and resources so our patients get the right care, at the right time, in the right place. We believe that the care we provide to our patients will be better-coordinated and informed by the latest medical advances.

Simply put, we are stronger together than we were as an individual hospital, provider network and skilled nursing facility.

At every step along the way as we explored the affiliation with the UVM Health Network, our guiding principle was our Mission: “Improving the health of our community, one person at a time”. We have opened an exciting new chapter in the 90+ year history of our organization, and we are looking forward to leveraging the expertise and resources of the network in ways that will improve the health of our community for generations to come.

UVM Health Network – Porter Medical Center, located in Middlebury, Vermont, is comprised of a 25-bed acute care facility, a 105 bed skilled nursing facility which includes a memory care unit, short-term rehabilitation unit, and a long-term care unit. Porter operates a network of primary care and specialty medical practices throughout Addison County and the town of Brandon, as well as an infusion center and starting this summer “Porter ExpressCare“.
